Kerala priest, Father Sony Varghese accused of raping a 34-year old woman has moved the Supreme Court for anticipatory bail. In a petition filed through advocate A Karthik, Father Varghese (appellant) has challenged the order of the Kerala High Court which had denied three priests including the appellant, anticipatory bail. The appellant belonging to Malankara Syrian Orthodox Church has been accused of having committed offences punishable under Sections 376, 354, 354A, 506(i) of the IPC.
