The Supreme Court has notified the guidelines for designation of lawyers and advocates-on-record as Senior Advocates. This comes pursuant to the directions contained in its own judgment in this regard in a petition by Senior Advocate Indira Jaising. It took the court ten long months to finalise the same. The Guidelines are called “Supreme Court Guidelines to regulate Conferment of Designation of Senior Advocates, 2018”.
