A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) petition has been filed in Supreme Court seeking ban on hospitals and medical facilities from compelling their patients to mandatorily purchase medicines from their designated pharmacies. The petition has been filed by one Siddharth Dalmia along with Advocate Vijaypal Dalmia, who also represented the petitioners before the Court. A Bench of Justices SA Bobde and L Nageswara Rao which heard the matter today, issued notice to the Centre and State governments.
